Joy of traveling Hong Kong is what one would call a perfect blend of the western and eastern culture. The city has been an economic hub of the world for the last decade. The city has had to adapt to the change rapidly while keeping its roots intact. Edwardian structures and Taoist temples nestle between looming skyscrapers. Locals that light incense to Buddha and trade in the international markets. A combination of the remnants of Chinese culture and European influence sit adjacent to one other.
When in Hong Kong, there are places that one absolutely must visit.
Clock Tower
This historical landmark was raised in the 1915 to be a part of the Canton-Kowloon railway station. It stands tall at 44 meters. While the station is non-existent this beautiful red brick and granite structure is now declared a monument and is one of the survivors that represent the Steam age in Asia.
It is also situated right outside the Cultural Center. Here, you can watch a host of international and local talent on stage. Ballet dancers and philharmonic orchestras make up the schedule alongside local theater productions and choirs. Without a doubt, the Cultural Center lives up to its name by bringing in more to the local population.
The Avenue of stars
The Avenue of stars was made to pay tribute to the contributors of the movie industry in East Asia. The first thing you see when you go to the Avenue of the Stars is the bronze statue of Bruce Lee. This was to commemorate martial arts as well as the star himself.
The pavement like the Hollywood walk of fame is filled with celebrity hand-prints, and commemorative tablets and many descriptive milestones of the movie industry. If it is souvenirs that one is looking for, you can buy memorabilia from here. The most breath-taking feature of this place is the view of the Hong Kong skyline.
The Peak
On the other side of Victoria Harbor from Tsim Sha Tsui, you’ll find Hong Kong Island. It is here where you’ll get to see all of the iconic high rises and night scenes. For years, there has been a very special place for visitors and locals alike to experience Hong Kong – The Peak.
A popular place for the shooting of many Hollywood action films, this place has been featured in many movies with its view of the Hong Kong line. The temperature in a place this high is cooler than the city down below. The Peak tram is its major feature with 120 years under its belt. When climbing to The Peak, the tram is the favored mode of transportation of many a tourist.
