Sweet Sydney
A visit to the Land Down Under is a memorable experience. I decided to explore this mysterious land for 7 days last year before I went back to school.
Downtown Sydney was my first stop. I stood atop the Sydney Tower Eye and saw a breathtaking view of this cosmopolitan city. I marveled at its array of ultramodern buildings, the amazing Sydney Harbour Bridge and the stunningly beautiful beaches surrounding it. In the distance were the Blue Mountains. It was incredible.
Next I explored Sydney’s fabulous shopping district. I strolled along Pitt, Market and King Streets and wended my way through small specialty boutiques, huge department stores and discount outlets. I needed an entire week to really check things out.
I visited the amazing Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife World. I enjoyed the Bridge Climb and relaxed in Luna Park. Each day for lunch and dinner I sampled the exotic dishes at places like Quay Restaurant, Tetsuya’s, Sake Restaurant & Bar, Jonah’s Whale Beach, Flying Fish Restaurant & Bar at the Sydney Harbour, Guillaume at Bennelong and ARIA Restaurant. The food was superb.
As I packed my bags to head home I realized I hadn’t even seen to the Great Barrier Reef or the Outback. I decided I either needed migration help or two more weeks Down Under.
An Australian beach Adventure
My friends and I took two weeks and decided to go on an Australian Beach Adventure. We did some research, packed our towels and trunks and headed to Australia where the people are friendly, the food is great and the Foster’s is always cold. We might need migration help.
We started out adventure at Whitehaven Beach in Airlie Beach, Australia. The sand was milk white, the waters were the crystal clear and we had a wonderful time. Next we headed to Turquoise Bay in Exmouth where we had the best snorkeling experience ever. It was epic. Cable Beach in Broome was our nest destination. Only one word can describe our time there. Awesome. And then there was Burleigh Heads Beach where the water was great, the sun was hot and water was cool.
Byron Bay was heaven and at Coolangatta Beach the waves were great. Manly Beach and Palm Beach in Sydney were also a lot of fun. As was the Port Douglas’ incredible Four Mile Beach. On the last day of our Australian adventure we visited mind blowing Cottesloe Beach in Perth. As we were packing our gear some locals told us no true Australian water adventure is complete without a visit to the Great Barrier Reef. We looked at each other and instantly knew we were going to have to extend our stay.
