MeersburgAlte Burg
It is located near the black forest in Wurttemberg, built in early 7th century. It has been modified over the years thou the original structure is no longer visible as it is by far the most beautifully kept. The fortress includes a medieval living area, a knights hall, an arms hall, a well room, a castle dungeon, chapels, guard walkways and towers, the picturesque fortress garden and the defensible northern bastion. Public tour is available at a small fee.
The Wartburg
A beautiful must see while on vacation or holiday in Germany. It is situated just outside Eisenach in the Thuringia region and is one of the original castles that kept the writing of Martin Luther hidden because of fear of punishment from the Roman Catholic Church. Singing contest was held here as it is one of the oldest Romanesque buildings in Germany.
The Marksburg

SchlossSanssouci
For sure, this you can’t miss because it sits just a little outside of Berlin thus easy to see anyone flying into the capital. Originally, this castle belonged to Fredrick the great and was used as his summer’s get away of the time. SchlossSanssouci comes as a good place if only visiting near Berlin. Public tours are also available.
Schloss Braunfels
Originally was built in 17th century in neo gothic style. Later was rebuilt in 19th century and was used as war headquarters during WW2. It has an impressive collection of art on display to be toured by the public.
